TASK 1: SECURE A COPY OF THE SUMMER READING
-For the time being, your task is to secure a copy of the summer reading. Of course you may begin reading the text, but specific details will be posted by JULY 1st regarding HOW to read the text.
TIMEFRAME: June 6th to June 30th, 2013
Eventually, you will be independently reading and closely analyzing the American classic, THE NARRATIVE OF THE LIFE OF FREDERICK DOUGLASS.
MORE DETAILS WILL BE POSTED REGARDING HOW YOU WILL BE READING THE TEXT.
For the time being, Task 1 is to secure the text.
ADDITIONAL TASKS WILL BE POSTED BY JULY 1st, 2013.
You must get your own copy of the text.
DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO SECURE YOUR COPY OF THE TEXT.
OPTIONS:
1. A limited number of texts can be borrowed from the Morse High Library. Tell Ms. Maher, MHS Librarian, you are checking out the book from AP LANGUAGE SUMMER READING ASSIGNMENTS.
First come, first served!
Use post-it notes to ANNOTATE the text.
2. Locate a copy of the text that you can borrow from your local public library (Skyline, Malcolm X, National City, Bonita, Chula Vista, etc.) Use post-it notes to ANNOTATE the text. If these libraries do not have a copy on site, you can ask to request the book from another library in their system.
3. Find a cheap, used copy from Amazon.com to purchase so you can ANNOTATE freely.
4. This classic text can also be found as a digital text online. Copy and paste the text onto a MS Word file so you can annotate as you read. If you do not have MS Word, you can use Open Office or Google Docs.
